Xiangyun is an exceptional silk whose production technique is listed as part of China's intangible cultural heritage. In the Canton region, the fabric is hand-dyed with the juice of a tuber called shu liang, then coated with river mud and sun-dried over several weeks. The result is a lacquered black front and brown reverse, a dry yet supple drape, and a crinkled texture that is part of its charm.

Hand wash in cold water without rubbing, using a mild detergent; do not soak. Lay flat to dry in the shade. Iron gently on the reverse without steam.
