The Momme (abbreviated mm) is the unit of measurement for the weight of silk fabric. The higher the Momme, the denser, more durable, and better quality the silk is. At StudioSoie, we offer silks ranging from 16.5 mm (lightweight, ideal for accessories) to 30 mm (premium, perfect for luxury bedding). For bedding, we recommend a minimum of 19 mm to combine softness and longevity.

Mulberry silk is the most noble of all. It is produced by silkworms (Bombyx mori) fed exclusively on white mulberry leaves, under controlled conditions. It is distinguished by its long and uniform fibers, natural shine, and incomparable softness.

Other silks (tussar, eri, muga) come from wild silkworms and have more irregular fibers. At StudioSoie, we use only certified grade 6A mulberry silk.

Silk is naturally hypoallergenic and regulates body temperature. Its ultra-smooth surface reduces friction — your hair stays shiny and knot-free upon waking, and your skin is less prone to crease marks.

Rich in sericin (a natural protein), silk helps preserve skin hydration. Unlike cotton, it does not absorb your night creams or facial treatments.

High-quality silk has several distinctive features: a natural satin sheen (not plastic-like), a soft and cool texture to the touch, a balanced weight according to the Momme, and strength without stiffness.

The OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certification guarantees the absence of harmful substances. All our fabrics are certified grade 6A — the highest quality standard for mulberry silk.

Care & Washing

We recommend hand washing in cold or lukewarm water (maximum 30°C) with a gentle detergent specially made for silk or wool. Gently immerse the item, rub without twisting, rinse with clear water, and gently press into a clean towel to absorb excess water. Never wring or put in the dryer.

Some of our items can be machine washed on a delicate cycle at 30°C, placed in a protective mesh bag. Always check the label on your item before proceeding.

Avoid fabric softeners, enzymatic detergents, and products containing bleach, as they damage silk fibers and dull their natural shine.

Iron silk inside out, at a low temperature (silk or wool setting on your iron), preferably when the fabric is still slightly damp. Use a pressing cloth to avoid direct contact between the iron and the silk.

Never spray water directly on dry silk — this can leave stains that are difficult to remove.

Store your silk items away from direct light and humidity. Prefer breathable cotton covers rather than plastic bags that trap moisture.

Avoid metal hangers that can deform the clothes. For bedding, roll it gently without compressing it, and refresh its storage every few months.

Delivery & Times

In mainland France, orders are prepared and shipped within 24 to 48 business hours, then delivered within 2 to 5 business days. For the European Union, expect 3 to 7 business days. For other international destinations, delivery times vary from 5 to 14 business days depending on the country.

Delivery is free in mainland France for purchases over €80. Below this amount, a flat fee of €4.90 applies. For international orders, shipping costs are automatically calculated at checkout based on the destination and total weight.

As soon as your order is shipped, you will receive a confirmation email containing a tracking number. You can use it to track your package directly on the carrier's website.

Returns & Exchanges

You have 30 days from the receipt of your order to return an item to us. Products must be returned in their original condition: unwashed, unworn, with all original tags attached.

Personalized items and lingerie cannot be returned for hygiene reasons.

Contact us at contact@studiosoie.fr by providing your order number and the reason for the return. We will send you detailed instructions within 24 hours.

Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer, except in cases of defective items or errors on our part, in which case we cover the return shipping costs.

Yes, we accept exchanges for a different size or color, subject to stock availability. Contact us within 30 days of receipt with your order number and the details of the desired exchange.

Exchanges are processed within the same timeframe as standard orders.

Orders & Payment

We accept credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express), PayPal, and Shop Pay. All transactions are secure and SSL encrypted. No banking data is stored on our servers.

You can modify or cancel your order within 2 hours of confirmation by contacting our team at contact@studiosoie.fr.

After this period, if the order has already been prepared, cancellation is no longer possible. You will need to proceed with a return after receipt.
